Comparison
Freshdesk competes on value, and does it well. The comparison that matters is not price against price — it is what each pricing model does to your team, and whose law reaches your data.
Freshdesk is the sensible budget choice in the category: capable, well-priced, with a free tier that genuinely works for a small team. If cost per agent is the deciding factor and data jurisdiction is not a concern for your business, it is a strong product.
SupportAndGo differs in two structural ways — we charge per workspace rather than per agent, and we are an Australian company rather than a US-listed one with an Australian region.
Freshdesk's tiers are per agent per month, and the features you want tend to sit a tier or two above where you start. The familiar pattern is that the price you evaluated is not the price you pay eighteen months later — not through any bad faith, simply because the team grew and the useful features were higher up.
Per-workspace pricing has a different failure mode, and it is worth naming: if you are a single person handling a handful of tickets a month, per-agent pricing on a free tier is cheaper than anything we charge. We are not the cheapest option for one person. We become the cheaper option roughly where a second and third person join the queue.
Freshdesk can put your data in an Australian region. What it cannot do is change whose law reaches the company holding it. The US CLOUD Act reaches providers under US jurisdiction regardless of where the data is stored — an Australian data centre operated by a US company is still reachable by a US order, and the order can carry a non-disclosure obligation, so you may not be told.
This is not a feature gap that a roadmap closes. It is a question of where the company is incorporated, and it is the one difference between us that cannot be matched without restructuring.
Under Australian Privacy Principle 8 the accountability stays with you: disclose personal information to an overseas recipient and you remain responsible for what they do with it. Using an Australian-owned processor removes the cross-border disclosure rather than managing it.
Incident correlation. Push an error event from your monitoring and the desk links it to the tickets arriving about it. Forty complaints and the bug behind them stop being two separate investigations, which is the difference between answering forty people individually and telling all of them the same true thing at once.
AI on every ticket, not on the tickets you can afford. Classification, prioritisation and drafting are included rather than metered, so there is no incentive to turn them off on the cheap tickets.
Australian jurisdiction, which is the one above and is not a feature.
Freshworks offers regional hosting including Australia. As with every US-headquartered provider, residency is not jurisdiction: the CLOUD Act reaches the company regardless of which region holds the data. If that distinction does not matter for your business, Freshdesk's regional hosting is perfectly adequate.
Not for one person — Freshdesk's free tier beats anything we charge. It changes as the team grows, because our price does not move when you add people and theirs does. Somewhere around the second or third agent the comparison flips.
Yes, and it is how we prefer to start. We mirror your support mailbox read-only so the desk classifies and prioritises real traffic while your team keeps answering in Freshdesk. Nothing about your mail routing changes until you decide it should.
